Kamiku comes from the name of our family home. We are Kamiku. Kamiku is our story.
Kamiku was born from the combined efforts of a veterinarian and an agricultural engineer, two animal lovers. This has allowed us to care for our sheep in an exceptional way, and therefore, produce an exceptional cheese.
Our main goal was to create a cheesemaking business integrated with nature, respecting natural resources and generating equal employment in the rural area.
To produce exceptional cheeses, it’s necessary to carefully tend to every detail of the process. Our cheese is made the way it used to be made. The milk? It comes from our own sheep, allowing us to have full control over the production.
The cheese matures under very specific conditions, which allow the unique molds of Bertiz to develop; these molds are responsible for protecting the cheese and giving it a unique aroma, flavor, and creaminess.
The vast technical knowledge and accumulated experience (not only from years of work but also from being in a geographical area with a rich cheesemaking tradition, bordering France) have allowed us to develop innovative products from sheep’s milk.
We are passionate about our work and take great care in offering a quality product that reflects this passion and commitment.
For our family, awards mean a lot (because they are a recognition of our hard work); but even more important is the enjoyment of everyone who tastes our cheeses.
